Sam samochód został dostosowany do podwyższonej masy wynikającej z zamontowania układu zasilania CNG (szczególnie wysokociśnieniowej butli) poprzez wzmocnienia zastosowane w nadwoziu oraz przeprojektowanie przedniego i tylnego zawieszenia.
Na benzynie moc 4-cylindrowego silnika o pojemności 1,5 l wynosi 120 KM przy 6000 obr./min., a jego moment ma wartość 145 Nm i jest osiągany przy 4600 obr./min. Na gazie parametry silnika są nieco niższe. Moc silnika ma wartość 102 KM a moment wynosi 127 Nm.
Moment obrotowy silnika jest przenoszony na koła za pośrednictwem 5-biegowej, sterowanej ręcznie skrzyni biegów lub przekładni bezstopniowej CVT.
Wszystkie wersje Hondy City CNG są wyposażone w układ stabilizacji toru jazdy VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), światła awaryjnego hamowania ESS (Emergency Stop Signal), asystenta ruszania pod górę HSA (Hill Start Assist), dwie poduszki powietrzne, ABS i EBD.
